Another one of the patients I’ve had contact with while working on the book about Alma Nissen is Torsten Atterbom from Särö.
Torsten Atterbom wrote: I am 41 years old. Before I got asthma in January 1979 I was very sporty and fit. Amongst other things I’d several times been to the very demanding Nijmegen March in Holland with the Swedish Home Guard.
For my asthma I visited several doctors. The result was that they made me take medicine, including Cortisone, both in tablet form, as injections and as spray. The medicine did not remove the asthma, but just muted the symptoms randomly.
That was when I decided to visit Alma Nissen at Brandal, where i took part in the drinking cure and ate garlic. The result was outstanding. After the first week of the fast I was completely drug free. What a relief! To be able to walk in the woods without using sprays or tablets!
Later on my work made it necessary for me to eat foods that were not vegetarian. Every time I do that the asthma comes back. When it happens I take an “Alma-cure” at home for 4-5 days, and then I’m well again. For me it’s a full proof that Alma Nissen’s method is just right.
I’ve told a doctor at one of Swedens largest allergy clinics about my result (luckily there are some doctors who show interest in alternative methods). And this doctor was impressed with the result I was able to show for the visit at Alma Nissen.
Moreover Alma Nissen herself is living proof that her methods are right.
With kind regards

This page is part of an ongoing translation of the Danish Book: Gigtens gåde er løst (the mystery of arthritis is solved) by Peter Laursen. The book was published in 1989 by the Danish publishing house Hellas, and tells the story of Alma Nissen, who for more than 30 years cured thousands of patients for amongst other things arthritis, psoriasis, asthma, pneumonia, herpes, gallstones and migraines with something as simple as potato soup and garlic, mild exercise, enough sleep and a lot of common sense. Through all those years Alma fought to make doctors put away their prescription pads and realize that drugs against arthritis are worse than the disease itself. The book – Gigtens gåde er løst – tells Alma Nissens story in her own words and gives us the solution, so we can help ourselves, when the medical establishment refuses to.
I think that this is one of those few books that really can have a huge impact on the life and health of the reader, and that’s why I translate it into English, so more people can get access to Alma Nissens wisdom.
