– But the doctors at the hospital, weren’t they convinced that what you stand for is the right thing?
– The doctors were totally desperately against this.
They did everything they could to bully the trial.
And so did the rest of the staff.
They offered the patients sleeping pills and painkillers.
I found out very quickly.
But after two months we could see that the patients who followed my directives were healthy.
The others are now sitting in a wheelchair.
Several of them are dead.
It’s all proof that what I’m doing is right.
– If you could choose your life-work retroactively, would you choose to be a doctor?
– Yes, it’s probably the work that’s closest to the philosophy of my life.
I was born as a ”Samaritan”.
I can’t see any person suffer without having to interfere.
It has added severe distress to my own life and much sorrow and disappointment, because I suffer with other people.
It’s much easier to limit oneself to one’s own area and one’s own person than to have to interfere with everything.
But I feel that I must interfere.
I must fight.
I must go on.
As previously mentioned, the one thing that I will keep on fighting for is that the doctors get the right training.
Knowledge about proper nutrition must be complementary to the doctors other training to a much higher degree than it is now.
To be continued…
This page is part of an ongoing translation of the Danish Book: Gigtens gåde er løst (the mystery of arthritis is solved) by Peter Laursen. The book was published in 1989 by the Danish publishing house Hellas, and tells the story of Alma Nissen, who for more than 30 years cured thousands of patients for amongst other things arthritis, psoriasis, asthma, pneumonia, herpes, gallstones and migraines with something as simple as potato soup and garlic, mild exercise, enough sleep and a lot of common sense. Through all those years Alma fought to make doctors put away their prescription pads and realize that drugs against arthritis are worse than the disease itself. The book – Gigtens gåde er løst – tells Alma Nissens story in her own words and gives us the solution, so we can help ourselves, when the medical establishment refuses to.
I think that this is one of those few books that really can have a huge impact on the life and health of the reader, and that’s why I translate it into English, so more people can get access to Alma Nissens wisdom.
